I have gotten enough reports now to confidently say that Gym Buddy version 3.2.91 is safe to download!
If you are still running 3.2.8, go ahead and upgrade.
If you were one of the those who got bitten by 3.2.9, you can update and your data will still be there -- provided you never deleted Gym Buddy.
If you are running version 3.2.91 as an ad-hoc build, you don’t have to do anything.
I apologize again to everyone affected by this error.
Although this issue was not related to anything to do with my code or anything that I could control, in the future I will not allow an update to go live until the version downloaded from the store has been specifically tested.
(Of course all versions of Gym Buddy are and have always been tested by dozens of beta testers, the issue with 3.2.9 was something that only occurred when downloaded from the app store due to a bug in Apple’s permissions protocol.)
One piece of good news from this is that because I was adding people to my ad-hoc network as a work around, Gym Buddy now has dozens of more beta-testers. Thanks to everyone who has volunteered.
Also thanks to everyone who wrote to me in support. It is quite heartening to know how useful Gym Buddy is to so many users, and that it’s not just one of those apps that people download and forget about a week later. Your patience and understanding has motivated me even more to continue to improve and expand the Gym Buddy universe.
So, back to normal and enjoy your workouts!
