Passer Ratings are a thing of mystery no longer.
Whether it’s PeeWee, high school, college or pro, QB Rater will calculate the quarterback’s passer rating with every pass, or just after the game when its all said and done.
If you’re as obsessed with football as we are then you’ll love this app!!
Sure, they’ll tell you the stats as the game goes on, and you can find out the rating after the game, but what if you want to know your favorite QB’s passer rating pass by pass?
With QB Rater, you can see how each completion, touchdown or interception affects his game, season & career ratings all at once in a fun way complete with sound effects.
You simply enter the season and career stats (if you want), then tap the correct button with every pass. A challenge button even let’s you reverse the last pass, so feel free to experiment.
Add, delete, edit, and reorder multiple quarterbacks. Choose from college or pro formulas.
I bet the TV announcers wish they had this app.
Using QB Rater is pretty simple. If something isn’t clear, however, or if you’re trying to decide if it’s worth purchasing, we hope the following walkthrough will help.
This is the screen you get when you start QB Rater for the first time.
So the first thing to do is to add a quarterback.
You can turn off the sound by tapping the blue megaphone at the bottom.
Tapping the ‘Add QB’ football, brings up an alert view for entering the QB’s name.
Enter the name and tap ‘OK’, or you may cancel.
QB Rater will remember any quarterbacks you enter the next time it is started.
Here is it what it looks like after a few quarterbacks and some stats have been added.
You can toggle between college and pro formulas independently for each quarterback by tapping the button underneath their name.
The QB’s game passer rating is shown in large red numbers to the right, and a game summary of their stats is also given.
You can scroll up or down to view as many quarterbacks as you wish.
Tapping the ‘Edit’ football brings you to the edit mode.
Here you can delete a quarterback by tapping the red minus button.
Or reorder the list by grabbing and sliding the ‘list’ icon on the right.
You can also change the name of the quarterback by selecting him while in edit mode.
When you are done editing, tap the ‘Done’ football.
If you select a quarterback while not in edit mode, you are flipped to the stats screen.
Here is where all the action takes place.
If you want to see how each pass affects a qb’s career and season stats, enter them before the game starts. You can get this info from NFL.com.
Then with every pass he throws, select the appropriate green button at the bottom.
To undo a selection, tap the challenge flag.
To go back to the quarterback selection screen, tap the ‘Home’ button.
Tapping any of the top 5 stats, for game, career, or season, brings up a keyboard where you can enter a value.
This is how you load the season and career stats, and it also let’s you correct any mistakes you may have made during the game. When the broadcast shows the qb’s stats, just tap and update to match.
Hit the ‘Done’ button at the top left of the keyboard to hide it.
When a completion or a touchdown is made, an alert pops up where you can enter the yardage. Almost always the announcer will state the yardage, but its also not hard to estimate, then you can easily update it when they show the real stats.
If a pass goes for 20 yds or more, the screen flips around a few times in celebration.
That’s the tour. Enjoy the app and we hope your team wins.
